Help Orca Network raise funds to bring Lolita home! The Spring Fling for Lolita Online Auction, May 10-24, has been organized by volunteers in the midwest on behalf of Orca Network and the Southern Resident Killer Whale named Lolita (Tokitae), who was captured in Puget Sound and has been held alone in the Miami Seaquarium for 44 years.
More than 300 auction items — jewelry, art, crafts, trips, autographed books and DVDs, and services — have been donated from around the world. Lots of great orca items, of course, but also pieces honoring other endangered species and the people working to save them. You can preview the items and register to bid at https://www.biddingforgood.com/auction/item/browse.action?auctionId=208813302
All proceeds benefit Orca Network, a 50(c)(3) organization based on Whidbey Island, and their plan to “retire” Lolita from performing and if possible, return her to her family (the L-pod) in the Salish Sea.
