Who else is thinking we need a big party on the bridge the night before it opens? Food trucks, DJ, beer garden…
Let’s celebrate the awesome job the crew did repairing the bridge and the resilience of our community!
    We deserve a party!

Love the idea! We DO deserve to celebrate the reopening of the bridge! I thought having a raffle for who gets to cross the bridge first would be cool. Something like 5.00 a ticket?

There have been multiple posts about a party that is being planned. T-shirt design contest. Do a search on this blog and you’ll get the info.

I’m not sure your idea has the public support you think it does. I thought that way a year ago but now I just want the bridge to be open. I have lived in West Seattle for over 30 years without ever having a desire or need to party on the bridge. The way I feel now is if the bridge is able to be opened on September 11th for a party then we should open it for traffic instead. How about if we party at Ounces and Skylark (steps from the bridge) and help a couple local businesses while we are at it? There’s your food truck, beer garden and probably even live music. I hate to be a Debbie Downer but a party on the bridge is just not what we need. A bridge that is open to traffic is.
