If you are a member of their e-mail club, every year you get a coupon good for the price of an entree, for your birthday. You can use it on Tuesday evenings, for about a month after your BD. And I used mine this evening. First rave: when I opened up my saved e-mails from Duke’s, I inadvertantly printed out the coupon from 2008 (who knew I keep things that long – lol). I explained what I did to the waitperson, and she said that she never saw the date, to enjoy dinner.
I had dinner with 2 friends who had never eaten there, and their salads, clams, chowder, cioppino were extremely good, they both said, some of the best that they’ve ever had. I had a steak..8 oz. sirloin, with prawns in a garlic butter sauce, perfectly medium rare (and the most expensive thing on the menu @ 27 bucks – hehe), with fresh asparagus, and garlic mashers. I brought some of that home, for sure. I also had a small cup of their Kentucky bourbon crab chowder…heavenly.
The three of us split a warm molten chocolate cake with ice cream…oh, wow, oh, wow ! We’re lucky the three of us didn’t simultaneously lick the plate – lol. If you must, go just for that.
I haven’t eaten at Duke’s in years. The last time I was there I wasn’t really impressed..but the menu is different now, and the service was friendly and wonderful, and I will definitely be back…hat’s off to them.
