No trespassing trumps no soliciting

I saw the heads up on the news page about door to door canvassing and I came across this pdf that make sense. http://www.phillipslandinghoa.com/pdf/nwNoTresspassing.pdf

I know it is for some other location but I presume the laws would be pretty similar. The comments on the heads up about the door to door mentioned a desire for no soliciting but to me no trespassing would be less open to abuse plus it enables your neighbor and/or police to be more proactive against that guy who claims he is a Jehovah witness republican window salesman looking for his dog.
