lindaParticipantI’ll get to work on a croquet set. Will also be working on some of the other needs list items to bring at the same time.

2 Much WhineParticipantJust met with Celeste17 and dropped off swingset money. When my daughter heard about the swingset she kicked in $10 of her hard earned babysitting money in addition to a box full of age appropriate books. She made her father awfully proud today.

funkietooParticipant2 Much Whine…Hope your ‘Proud Glow’…goes on and on and on and on! You provide are an excellent role model for your daughter.
Celeste…I’ll drop my $10 off before the weekend.

miwsParticipantThank you everyone!
2 Much Whine, special thanks to your daughter. It’s great to see young people with a sense of compassion and sharing.

Seattle_RoseMemberMike/NV:
Do you have a need for a charcoal grill to use for cooking? My husband upgraded to a new one and wanted to see if you guys would need something like that before giving it away to someone else. Please let me know. If so, I can drop it off at some point. If not, we just plan on giving it away.
June 22, 2011 at 9:39 pm #727050
miwsParticipantSeattle_Rose, yes, I think another one would be nice. We have the two gas ones already, as well at least one or two charcoal.
However, it looks like we may be having to restrict our gas grill/propane usage, as we are simply using up the propane too quickly.
We have our fire pits as well, but that is dependent upon having available firewood.
Thanks!

angelescrestParticipantI have a lot of firewood from a plum tree taken down a year ago. Is it burnable now?
June 23, 2011 at 2:52 am #727052
miwsParticipantangelescrest, my uneducated guess would be yes, since it’s had plenty of time to dry out (as best as it can in rainy Seattle! ;-) )

angelescrestParticipantIf anyone has a truck and wants to swing by…if not I can load them in the wagon this weekend.
June 23, 2011 at 3:10 pm #727054
JoBParticipantangelescrest…
can i assume that if you are contemplating loading the wood into a wagon that it is already cut into manageable lengths?
maybe we can coordinate.
i will have the pickup on sat morning to go get the swingset…
i can’t load wood.. but the pickup will haul at least as much as your wagon.

lindaParticipantNote: croquet set was delivered on Tuesday late afternoon. Hope there was a chance to use it while we had a taste of summer the last two days.

karenParticipantAnyone going to NV that can pick up and take some meat with them? I’ve got some frozen ribs that we would be happy to donate, however, no ability to get there soon.
Thanks

June 23, 2011 at 10:33 pm #727065
karenParticipantThe ribs are frozen and fine. I would just like to send them where they will do some good and not just hang in the freezer!
JoB, can email me at kvegors at gmail dot com and I’ll set up when with you?
Thank you so much!!
June 23, 2011 at 10:56 pm #727066
angelescrestParticipantJoB–yes!
Shall I email you my address?
I have badminton raquets and a net as well. I also have extra cans of proteiny-powder that go into my daughte’s special formula. It mixes up well, and I have given extra to the AIDS center.
Hmmm. Thinkin’ protein-shake here…
June 24, 2011 at 11:36 pm #727067
angelescrestParticipantA zillion thanks to munchkins for loading and delivering the wood, etc., and hauling it to NV. More angels in our midst!
June 26, 2011 at 3:05 am #727068
JoBParticipantthanks to everyone who contributed to the swingset.
Celeste got the money to me yesterday and a couple of people from Nickelsville and I picked it up today.
We had a great conversation with the young mom who was giving it up.
The money went to cover moving expenses for a mom who has been forced to downsize. She was really needed the money or she would have been happy to donate it to the kids at Nickelsville.
This one was a win win.
it will be a couple of days before it is installed since we need to get new tie-downs and put something between the ground and bark dust.
but there were a lot of smiles in camp as it was carried in.
