New garbage collection schedule this week! Has anybody checked to see if the West Seattle schedule will change? I looked at the City’s web site but the collection schedule site is down (as of 11 am Saturday 3/28). The message says it will be back up on Monday.

they put a tape on the top of my garbage can telling us about the new pick-up day and i got an automated call on friday…

if you didn’t get either of those messages.. maybe your collection day didn’t change…

I received a mailer from the city a couple weeks ago that said what day my pickup was…didn’t change.

My garbage was picked up on Friday but the Tuesday collection starts the week of March 30th (that’s what the automated call said). Does anyone know if that means that they are going to come around this coming Tuesday as well? That would be awesome!

That’s a good question — I will send it out to our SPU contacts in case they are monitoring e-mail this weekend (which I suspect they are, since they’ve been so focused on the transition). At this point I would guess “yes,” because otherwise that would mean 11 days between pickups.

I was wondering the same thing. I am assuming they are going to be doing this. I still have all my food waste to set out.

nuni – I’m pretty sure you’ll have a double pick-up. Ours was picked up on Friday, per usual, but our new day will be Monday and it says that starts on Monday the 30th. I’m going through the rooms and doing some deep Spring cleaning to fill that puppy back up and make it count!

Our old pickup day was Monday. They notifed us by automated phone call of a Tuesday pickup, and they placed a “Tuesday” bumper sticker on our can during this last weeks Monday pickup.

    .

I’m assuming they intend Tuesday, March 31 to be our first pickup under the new schedule.

I didn’t get a phone call or a sticker, but then my day didn’t change…according to the date stamped on the mailer I received.

Everyone (whether their day changed or not) should’ve received a mailer…but the calls/stickers would usually be just for those whose dates had changed.

I got a note back a few minutes ago from one of the SPU media people.

Your new collection calendar IS now online. I doublechecked and it worked for me, so everybody might as well look and see if it works for you.

Just don’t be confused if it shows your new pickup day having been in effect earlier this month (the calendar for me shows Tuesdays all the way back to early March, though it’s been Mondays up until now).
