Need some great take-out for a party

SO, I was throwing a dinner party tonight where a friend of mine was planning the menu, doing the shopping and all of the cooking… and he got sick and let me know this morning he can’t do it. So now I have 10+ people coming over and nothing to feed them. I don’t want to spend a fortune (and they all will chip in) but I need to figure out something good to feed them.

Any great suggestions? I’m open to all sorts of foods, so let me hear what you’ve got!! :)

dawn2zs — had the same scenario a couple months back and we all pitched in and got take-out from Buddha Ruska — it was a HIT and didn’t make a mess of my kitchen! With everyone pitching in it was quite reasonable. Have also done the same thing with Korkoras and Lee’s.

Whatever it is, it will be great b/c it’ll be about the people and not the food — HAVE FUN!!!

We’ve done Buddha Ruksa for a party and it worked really well. It’s easy to accomodate different diets, and most of it reheats well for late arrivers.

Have you seen the collection of take-out menus compiled by a WSB forum-er? Buddha Ruksa is there, as well as many more that might give you ideas.

I’ve contemplated Husky Deli (Catering tab) for a dinner party, but I don’t know how much time they need.

Gotta 3rd Buddha Ruksa – they make great take-out food! Very tasty, travels well, reheats well and you can get a variety for spicy, non-spicy, veggie or meat lovers.

Well, 3rd time’s a charm! We are going with Buddha Ruksa! I called them and they were super helpful in ordering… I would’ve ordered WAY TOO MUCH food had I not taken advice from Nui! We’ll see how it goes but I appreciate everyone’s suggestions. Now I just can’t wait to eat!!!

Thanks everyone!! What a great recommendation. The food was wonderful – the only downside was that people were so late that we didn’t get to eat for almost 2 hours after I picked it up!!

SO, I am really looking forward to going to the restaurant and eating the food when it’s fresh and hot! The crispy garlic chicken was to die for!! Can’t wait to go back!!
