Have a fully landscaped yard that is a hodge-podge of mature plants and hard scapes. We want to remove many of the overgrown plants and need a professional to design new a new landscape to make it all work together. Thanks!

Wendy Lomme at Akina Designs would be perfect for this: http://www.akinadesigns.com/

She’s located here in West Seattle and has many years of experience working on local yards.

I would feel bad not leaving a plug for Solstice Landscape Design. Great environmentally sustainable designs. Not WS based, but has done many projects there. Totally worth checking out!

Based out of Mukilteo but they will do WS work.

The design process was excellent and 2-way with great computer renderings. They really take everything into account from the style of your home to sunlight/shadow scenarios and budget. Might be more than what you need, but these guys are thorough and experienced.

Not cheap by any stretch, but we are SO happy with the results.

I recently had my landscaping by Todd at Elliot Bay Landscaping (http://www.elliottbaylandscape.com/) and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Todd was referred to me by a professor at South Seattle College’s landscaping program. He’s local and can do it all, including design and installation.

I chose Todd over some other landscapers that were recommended to me because he was just so easy to work with. He’s friendly, he’s a great communicator, and he’s really considerate of his client’s budgetary restrictions. He also has a great eye for design and will ask lots of questions to make sure you’re getting the garden you desire.

Beyond that, Todd’s great because he’s passionate about his work and his clients. He once took the time, for instance, to walk me through my entire yard to teach me how to best care for the plants he installed and to share some simple tips I could use to tell if my garden needed water as well as some tricks I could employ to make my flowers bloom longer.

Here’s a couple sample pics from my new yard (click to enlarge):
