In 2000 he spent a week on the bus and wrote this about McCain, for Rolling Stone. Among other things, it tells us something about how different McCain is now, and how much he stays the same. NB, the article is long and self-indulgent and riveting; I’m posting for the politics junkies and for the fans of literature, who are still in mourning.

andreaParticipantRainyDay, I read the Times article by Westneat too and thought it pretty revealing…he pretty much says what everyone has said of the McCain of yore and the McCain of today.
