BBGuestMemberI saw a poster up at the dog park today. Has a phone number to call, and note about not trying to catch (her?). Shiba I know is very picky about who she will go to so really hope she finds her people soon.

me on 28th Ave SWParticipantI own a shiba inu and they can be near impossible to catch if they escape and want to run. The best way to get mine to come to me is if I walk/run the OPPOSITE direction then she’ll chase after ME; and this is in the controlled setting of my house! I’ve never tried it in the stressful situation of her being loose (thank God haven’t HAD to), but I have hear other owners say this can work; especially if you are dramatic as you are running away (big arm movements, high-pitched noise) all seem to attract their attention. I know it sounds really stupid, but other than looking odd what is there to lose? I hope this little one is captured soon. I cannot imagine the worry on the part of the owner.

service dog academyMemberme on 28th Ave SW: your technique is one i teach in class. it takes advantage of a dogs natural inclination to want to chase moving objects.

JoBParticipantin the stress of a full on run..
nothing intrigues my shibas so much as if i simply sit down and pull out a snack.
if you notice, they look back at you while being chased… and mine will even follow at a distance if they think i am not chasing them.
i don’t know about other shibas.. but mine can’t resist a hamburger… tho just about anything will work.
i hope this one is found soon because shibas have no fear which makes traffic very dangerous for them.

BBGuestMemberGot a note from the owner this morning. Shiba is still on the run with many sightings. I am going to walk my dogs with a can of smelly cat food in hopes she will catch the scent and follow me home. Maybe 2 cans so I can get the gates closed behind her!

BBGuestMemberPS here is the phone number if you see her (425) 876-2300. I have it programed on my cell now under Sasha(also sent the owner the link to list her on the pet page here). I guess it is OK to post her number since it is on the craigslist post and on the posters.

me on 28th Ave SWParticipantIs she still running around the area of SSCC? When is she spotting the most (early AM, early evening)? JoB, my dog is like yours; food=attention. I hope she gets “caught” soon.
