EttaMemberEnglish Spring Spaniel (lost inside Westcrest Off-Leash Park about 2:30 pm, cross-streets are 9th Ave SW and SW Cloverdale) Sassy is a 35 lb female Springer Spaniel with black and white marking. She is shy and doesn’t know commands or her name very well yet. This is a rescue dog and she is wearing a pink collar with an i.d. tag that has her name and her foster-mom’s cell phone number. Please call (206) 420-4415 if you see her or are able to catch her. We are worried sick about her.

RainyDay1235MemberI guess the collar is not a match, but I’ve forgotten what I had on mine at any given time…

>>Our neighbor found a black and white springer spaniel near the Admiral PCC about half an hour ago. She has a brown leather collar on that has a telephone number listed on it. We have called the number but thought we would try this avenue as well. It appears that she has chewed through a rope and is having a fun day in the sun. We can be reached at 206.933.7561

EttaMemberShe has a pink collar with a red heart tag. We are taking search and rescue dogs to the Westcrest dogpark TONIGHT to see if we can still track her scent. I will keep this forum posted. Pray and send positive thoughts please!

smyParticipantI’m sending this for Alison, who is out looking for Sassy right now. There doesn’t seem to be a way to attach the flier for Sassy to this posting, but Alison is hoping folks can post the flier in their neighborhood. If you will please help with this, email syakymi@comcast.net to have the flier emailed to you. Thanks so much for your help! Susan
From Alison: A scent tracking dog scanned the park last night and it has been determined she is no longer in the park. This afternoon we will be taking the dog and tracking her scent around the neighborhoods near the park, speaking with neighbors, and putting up flyers. Please feel free to do this in your own neighborhoods as we cannot physically get everywhere. Please forward this email to your friends and neighbors, as the more area we can cover the sooner we can find her. It has been TWO nights that she has been gone and we are VERY worried that she is scared, hungry, and alone. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR HELPING US BRING HER HOME!!
Sincerely,
Alison Draisin

EttaMemberNo luck today. Please let people who may not have internet access know that we are looking for Sassy. I canvassed the areas North and West today- search and rescue dog was not able to make it today, however, volunteers with night vision and heat sensing devices spent 5 hours in the early morning scouring the woods below the park. They only found rabbits and raccoons.
Thank you SO SO much for helping us find this little girl.

beachdrivegirlParticipantHave you contacted any news media outlets? I know that helped reunite a dog & its owner last week. just a thought & best of luck to you. i will keep my eyes open for you. :)
April 7, 2009 at 11:34 pm #663374
EttaMemberI have tried contacting the media, but no response so far. While out posting flyers a woman on 7th, just south of the park reported seeing Sassy running around that afternoon. Please keep a lookout for her! She is really missed!!

April 9, 2009 at 12:07 am #663379
EttaMemberI may be a bit late as I have to run errands.
April 9, 2009 at 5:40 am #663380
EttaMemberAny sightings? There will be new neon signs put up tomorrow afternoon at all intersections leaving WS-with a REWARD for information leading to her being returned/found.
April 9, 2009 at 11:59 pm #663381
EttaMemberA young girl called today and reported her friend sighted a dog looking like Sassy in Burien, “near a bridge.” Her phone died before I could get more information. I do not know where she maybe referring to…anyone have any idea?
April 10, 2009 at 1:42 am #663382
hammerheadParticipantI live in burien. no “bridge” just the south park bridge. there are over passes. there is a pedestrian over pass near s S 128 near albertson.
April 10, 2009 at 3:35 am #663383
EttaMemberWe drove around Burien and discovered the multiple over passes. Maybe a teenager doesn’t know the difference? Trying in vain to reconnect with her but her cell goes straight to voice mail! ARGH!! We did post a bunch of signs around the HS and Elementary School.
April 11, 2009 at 3:01 pm #663384
EttaMemberWe had a positive sighting on Friday evening at 5 pm , at 11 pm, and at 3:30 am around 5th Ave SW, which is just north of the dog park. PLEASE keep your eyes and ears open (she is still wearing her collar and it makes a little sound). She is skittish, so don’t try to call her, if you sight her call me at 206-420-4415-if you are able to corner her and get her on a leash, well then CALL ME! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!
April 11, 2009 at 6:12 pm #663385
EmmyJaneParticipantSounds like you’re getting close, good luck! We’ll try and head over later today and look around…. with our best dog treats!
April 11, 2009 at 11:53 pm #663386
EttaMemberCross your paws- we put out a humane trap for her tonight. She is definitely staying in a particular area. We shall see!
April 12, 2009 at 3:59 am #663387
EmmyJaneParticipantI drove around 5th both south and north of Westcrest tonight and didn’t see her. Let me know if you want a buddy to go walking with around there.
