my girls are finally growing out of some dolls, stuffed animals, games, books. i’d really love to find a shelter that would put this stuff to use and help them out to some degree..any ideas?
That’s very sweet of you. The YWCA runs some family shelters, and when I donated things to them, they were very easy to coordinate with, and very friendly. I recommend them.

Family Promise of Seattle is a locally based (West Seattle HQ) organization that helps homeless families – one of the few that tries to help them stay together. They have a day center in a small house north of The Junction, and then the families with whom they are working rotate between temporary places to sleep, often at local churches.
