I received this in my email this morning: (no link, so copy and paste):(John and Pablo own St. Clouds Restaurant on 34th in Madrona. They have a separate Homeless Cooking project once a month at their restaurant http://www.neighborhoodcooking.org/what-it-is/ )
    Dear Friends,

As I hope you know by now, we have expanded our Homeless Cooking efforts to include cooking twice each month at Hope Place (part of Union Gospel Mission on Othello Street). With their fantastic kitchen, wonderful guests, and the chance to not only cook for those in need but to meet and serve them as well, it’s an ideal opportunity to enjoy cooking and helping.

It’s time to line up volunteers for this winter and spring’s cooking events. Can you join in? See below for full details on dates and how to sign up. Our dear friend Katie from Hope Place takes care of sign ups, so contact her directly – kgamaunt@ugm.org. Thanks to you all for your hearts and for your hands! Warm wishes for the new year, John and Pablo

A HUGE heartfelt thanks to ALL of you who cooked and served those less fortunate at Hope Place Women’s and Children’s Shelter in 2016.

What a wonderful thing we have going here! Those at Hope Place were blessed by not only your beautiful food, but by your smiles and company as well. I’m not surprised that many of you mentioned that you felt equally touched. John Platt and I are excited to continue this partnership and have reserved the following dates in 2017:

    Tuesday Dinner Dates**

    1/10 – Lead – Lynnette Senzel

    2/7 – Lead – Nicci Milner

    3/7 – Lead – Nicci Milner

    4/4 – Lead – Lynnette Senzel

    5/9 – Lead – Nicci Milner

    6/6 – Lead – Lynnette Senzel

Dinner is served at 5pm – volunteers may arrive as early as 2pm to start prepping and cooking the meal. Hope Place’s weekday cook, Ben Ballard, will be available to assist you when needed.

**Do you have an interest in heading up a Tuesday team? Please feel free to email me dates that work for you!

    Sunday Dinner Dates***

    1/15 – Lead Cook – Stephanie Hodges

    2/26 – Need Lead

    3/26 – Need Lead

    4/30 – Need Lead

    5/21 – Need Lead

    6/25 – Need Lead

Dinner is served at 5pm – volunteers may arrive as early as 2pm to start prepping and cooking the meal. Hope Place’s weekend cook will be available to assist you when needed.

***Do you have an interest in heading up a team on a Sunday in February, March, April, May or June? Please feel free email me a date that works for you!

Whether you volunteer on Tuesday or Sunday, John will work with the lead who will then contact you for meal planning and needed ingredients. I (Katie) am your contact for scheduling and/or all questions concerning volunteering at Hope Place itself. You may call or email me with dates you are available to cook and/or serve and I will register you for your desired dates. Please do not come unannounced on one of the dates above – Hope Place is a secure shelter and you must be registered as a volunteer as well as for the date of the event itself. If you have not completed your online volunteer application and would like to be part of the team, please let me know and I will send you the link to get started on the process.

John and I are very excited about continuing this partnership and are so thankful for each and every one of you and your interest in serving those in greatest need. We’re going to continue to have a lot of fun and bless a lot of people in the process. Please come join us!

*You are receiving this email because you expressed interest in volunteering to cook and/or serve at Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission on behalf of the Neighborhood Cooking Foundation. If you would like to be removed from the mailing list, please send me your request. Thank you!

Wishing you all a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year!

    Katie
