smap-dMemberAre you a DIY landscaper looking for some extra $$? I’ve got a relatively easy project I’m looking for help with.
We used to have a small lawn (ie. moss/weeds) which I’ve cleared, and would like a small level patio, approx 6′ deep X 14′ wide. Just need some retaining stones at the front, fill in with dirt/gravel until the height is equal with the back, add some flagstones, and voila! (Well, if it was that easy, I’d do it myself…but frankly, I don’t have time and I want it done in this lifetime.)
Something like this, but I’m not too picky:

$20/hr plus materials/supplies, estimating 8 hours or so.

DianaParticipantIf you are looking for someone to do this kind of work they need to be licensed, bonded, and insured. Buyer beware!

JoBParticipantFor larger projects.. i agree with Diana
but many of us simply don’t have the time or energy to do the smaller projects that licensed, bonded and insured contractors overbid to avoid doing…
even if you are willing to pay, finding someone to do the small projects isn’t as easy as one might think.
On more than one occasion in the past year i have tried to find a licensed, bonded and insured repairman who would come to my house to fix small problems …
even being willing to pay top dollar for timely service.. the best offer was within the next two weeks.
Sometimes you just can’t wait.
i hired a local handyman or broke out the tools and fixed it for myself.
