Does anyone know why the KOMO News crew (I think it was KOMO) was in WS around 4:40 today at the intersection of 59th

and Admiral Way?? I didn’t see anything on the news.

At about 3:45 today, We witnessed 5 police cars (SPD, Burien and King Co) blaze westbound on Roxbury with lights and sirens ablaze.

Nothing on the scanner and WSB didnt know what it was either.

I was in the same area when the series of police cars zoomed by. They all ended up at the Roxbury Safeway and blocaded the entrances. Looks like they arrested a lady but that’s all I know but there was a large police presence.

KOMO reporter Denise Whittaker was doing live reports for their 5:00 and 6:00 pm broadcasts regarding the City of Seattle discontinuing the Crossing Guard program.

They were reassuring viewers that Seattle Schools would keep the program going themselves.

(Personal data point; the Crossing Guard they showed in the taped segment of the live reports is an old friend of mine. We’ve been out of touch a bit for years, and I didn’t even known she did that for a living.)

Gennessee School was taped off this afternoon for police training – probably not related at all to KOMO being here though.
