JoanMemberMike, my sweet old violin instructor, had his double fiddle case lifted from his truck today in White Center. More over here: http://tinyurl.com/help-out-mike
(link to White Center Now blog story under the tiny url)
Seattle Police Dept has a report now, #09-406085, or call officer M.Waters at 206-733-9800.
I don’t have any photos of the case and only very fuzzy phone pics of Mike playing one of the violins, but it is a black rectangular case, contained both his older model and his wife’s newer instrument, bows, rosin, neck pads, strings, tuner, etc.
This is a terrible blow for them, no money or insurance for this type of thing… <sobbing> I mean DAMMIT. Street value will not be high at all on this. Sad, so sad.
Anyway, please keep an eye out. Thanks!

GenHillOneParticipantoh blech, I like the CL feed idea someone had on WCN site – and even though they *shouldn’t* take them, I’d still let pawn shops know as that seems like the easiest way for someone to get rid of them. sucky.

JoanMemberAfter giving the police report, Mike left to visit the local pawn stores… no word yet.
I wish I’d thought of this last night, but if I had the day off today I’d print up a few hundred half page leaflets and hit the neighborhood.
Playing and giving lessons isn’t Mike’s only livelihood, but a good part of it.

WSBKeymasterDo you have any links to “similar to this” photos? I’m about to link to Ricardo’s WCN item in a home page post on WSB so it’ll reach thousands more people, but can add more details or whatever if you have it. Let me know, it’ll be up shortly but Sunday is fairly slow and most people won’t see it till tonight so there’s always time to add to it.
