I want to take a moment to recognize someone who probably does not get a lot of recognition due to the place he works. James at Subway is by far the best sub sandwich maker in all of White Center, and I have had my share. He is friendly and caring, and takes pride in the work that he does. He is always quick to share a personal story, and is passionate about making sure you leave his establishment with an amazing sandwich. Tonight I was at a location where I could have bought two tuna sandwiches (happy Good Friday), but I knew that after all the experiences I have had at the White Center Subway, that James would be the one to deliver. I was not disappointed. Subway is a franchise like any other fast food place, but James makes it feel like a small deli that makes it the way you like it. He deserves credit for the work he does, and I would like him to know that every time my wife and I have frequented his establishment, we always leave saying the same thing: “that Subway is the best!” I hope that he sees this, as working at a fast food restaurant seldom gets recognized, but James certainly does deserve credit for the amazing work he does.

Talaki34ParticipantTo help him get the recognition he deserves, I would suggest doing the following:
Contact his manager in person.
Send a registered letter to the corporate office detailing your experiences with James. Make sure you emphasize how much of an asset he is to the company as whole and that you wish him to be recognized for his efforts.
Ask to be contacted when James is going to be recognized so you and your may be there.
Thank you for writing this.

anonymeParticipantJohn, thank you for your post. In our class driven society, we too often forget that excellence exists at every level, both social and economic. There is no task too menial to be done well. I would even venture to say that people like James are what give the most value to our everyday lives – making this recognition important and well deserved.
