I love the wet and rain. It help my bad allergies stay in check. I hope it doesn’t get any warmer or drier. Anyone with me?

I’m pretty sad about that, too, JoB!

Poor little tomato plants! And the squash/cucumbers are getting decimated by the slugs – who also love this weather!

Don’t mind the rain at all but a few degrees warmer would be nice.

Indications are that the weather bureau has stated it’s going to be a strong wet summer for us in the Northwest, and maybe the whole West Coast. The hurricane season starts on June 1st, and there’s already three hurricanes brewing in the Atlantic Basin with another dozen storm systems that have 40 mph winds or stronger reported by NOAA.

I am with pigeonmom on this. As long as the daytime highs are in the 60s I do not have a particular problem with the wetness. Free water for my garden!

The duckies are lovin’ it! A few more sunbreaks and some dramatic clouds with the typical spring systems we get would be nice (you know some wind, fleecy clouds and sun between systems)…. nice for windsurfing… but no luck this year.

Seems like it all one big drizzly system these days. I and the duckies have never been wetter than the last 8 months… and, my bet is, more is coming.

uglybrowncrow: I’m totally with you! Maybe it is because I was a December baby born in New England, but I’ve always felt more comfortable with cold and wet than I have with hot and sunny. I used to love how TV’s The Munsters would always think a torrential downpour was a beautiful day! I think to some extent we’re conditioned to think that sunny, warm weather is good and rainy, cool weather is bad. It reminds me of the scene in Hamlet when he says to Horatio: “There is no good or bad but thinking makes it so.”

BOO! I just want to sit outside in the sun and drink beer, but the rain is ruining those plans. It is nice not to have to water the plants though.

Just remember that last year we had an unusual spring drought that merged with the annual summer drought. A lot of plants suffered and/or died because they never got the sprink soaking they needed to get through the summer. The tomatoes and peppers may not be too happy right now, but overall it’s better to have the rain than not. The sun will emerge eventually…

If by “this weather” you mean the sun and 65 degrees we deserve and are getting RIGHT NOW, then I love this weather.

Earlier today I met a friend at the Water Taxi for lunch at 11:45 and it was the same dreary gray drippy gray lotsa drips weather we’ve been blessed with the last 4-6 days. Enough already. I am eyeing the Weber and defrosting the beast…(OK, pork loin) and “Eliote” corn from the new veggie place…

JayDee…sitting here reveling in the small amount of sun that we have right now, and YAY, temps above 60. Where’s my Coppertone? Hmmm…

    Here’s what I LOVE:

    1. Not having to see the Olympic Mountains.

    2. Not having to see the Cascade Mountains.

    3. Not having to see ugly Mt. Rainier.

I hate looking at nature. This rain and cold is awesome.

Ha! In all honesty, it never fails that whenever it gets sh*tty weather-wise someone chimes in to mention how they LOVE it. I’m all for clouds and rain 9 months out of the year, but it seems “masochism” can be added to “passive-agressive” as one of Seattle’s favorite personality traits.

P.S. Everyone be sure to get your Vitamin D levels checked the next time you see your doctor. Cancer is something I’m sure even the masochists would agree isn’t awesome.

villagegreen, thanks for the Vit. D reminder. And…I love sun and warm (not hot).I realizethat Oct-April can be iffy, but today is June 02, and frankly, I’m getting tired of turning my heat on for my clients :)

Jan, just leave the heat off, and tell your clients it’s a new method you offer.

Kind of the opposite of Bikram Yoga. ;-)
