HRGDIVINGParticipantGlobal Diving & Salvage, Inc. (Global) is the largest diving contractor on the West Coast, based out of Seattle, WA, a leading provider of marine construction and infrastructure support services in the United States, and an internationally recognized casualty responder.
We are currently seeking a HR Coordinator to join our team in Seattle. The HR Coordinator is responsible for assisting with employee on-boarding paperwork, benefits administration, and daily tasks including upkeep of personnel files, unemployment claims, and other HR tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Process employee status changes daily
Record employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason
Process new employees, create and maintain an HRIS profile for all employees
Process background checks, create associated reports and responses
Create and maintain employee personnel files
Work with payroll department to communicate pay rates, tax withholdings, benefits enrollment, etc.
Complete I-9’s for new hires and process all hires using E-Verify
Collect & forward new-hire certificates and safety training paperwork to all relevant parties
Follow up with incomplete hiring paperwork
Process employment applications and assist in other recruiting activities
Update employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses
Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information to authorized persons
Compile data from personnel records and prepares reports
Compile and maintain records for use in employee benefits administration
Weekly monitoring of unemployment claims
Create reports in HRIS, applicant tracking system and Excel related to turnover, benefits eligibility, affirmative action, performance management, etc.
Reconcile credit card billing and other HR Group transactions
Recruit and interview applicants as needed
Write new and update existing HR procedures and reports
Create and maintain company-wide organization charts
Promote organization by attending relevant career fairs
Special projects as neededEducation
AA degree or similar certification, preferred
BA/BS degree in HR, or similar preferred
Experience
2+ year experience in HR
Knowledge/Skills
Intermediate/Excellent Microsoft Suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Experience with an applicant tracking system preferred
Sound judgment and decision making skills
Ability to prioritize among multiple projects
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
Excellent interpersonal and team skills
Physical/Mental Requirements
Perform work in an office setting
