Alkigal68ParticipantI am looking for a new home. A 1 bedroom apartment or a mother in law would be ideal. Would consider a studio that would allow my 4 year old Pitbull to live with me. Any recommendations or ideas?

SueParticipantThe new Mural apartments adverise on Craigslist that large dogs are welcome, but don’t mention any specific breed restrictions (if they have any). Their apartments aren’t inexpensive, but you could call and ask about pitbulls. http://www.muralapartments.com

JoBParticipantAlkaigal…
i would try the little rental agency down on Alki.. they seem to represent many of the smaller rentals in that area and have a more personable approach to renters… and there are a lot of vacancies right now so it is a good time to ask for exceptions to rules.
You will also likely have better luck with owner/landlords than with rental agencies.
if your dog is well behaved, taking it with you to an interview after mentioning you have a large dog can be helpful.
that’s what i did some time ago when we were looking for rentals and had a full size Akita. She charmed everyone she met.
With my shibas.. i make sure my landlords don’t meet them first… or i take only the charming girl with me:(
I wish you lots of luck and will keep an eye out for a place for you.
let us know how it goes.

GinaParticipantQuality Cleaners on the corner of Admiral and California is advertising a studio apt. for $675. I don’t know if that means a corner in the cleaners, or if it is above Atomic Boys.

anatidaephobiaParticipantGo through Craigslist rentals that list “OK” for dogs. Ours is part pit, and we’ve rented from private owners in the past. I don’t know of any apartments that allow them w/in the city of Seattle, due to insurance/liability.
Good luck, I know it’s hard finding housing w/ a dog, especially that breed in this town. Most people don’t know that pits used to be the #1 family dog in the U.S., before some of them were bred for aggression and fighting. The vast majority are as sweet & non-aggressive as any other dog.
