HarmonicParticipantIt’s cold. I am gathering what I can for our encampment off Highland Park drive. I have a blanket or two, instant oatmeal, and some treats. Did anyone ever determine what the kids need? I have 2T girls and smaller to donate. Is that useful? I am sad that there are tots there. Normally, I donate at goodwill or the truck in the junction, but feeling like this is more urgent.

DBPMemberHarmonic: You’re great, and your heartstrings make a beautiful sound when they’re tugged!
As JoB said in another post, the best way to discover what the kids at Nickelsville need is to go down there and meet them and their parents for yourself. Does that prospect of visiting NV make you nervous? That’s understandable. If that’s the case, I’ll be happy to meet up with you and we can tromp down there together.
(Wait. Does the prospect of meeting me make you even MORE nervous? Oh well.)

Betty TMemberA friend asked me the other day if anyone there was happy? What I know is most make the best of their situation. We see smiles and a little kidding around sometimes. Right now? probably not much what with snow and tents falling down, etc.

HarmonicParticipantNot afraid to meet anyone :). I didn’t get my bag down there today cause I was dealing with my own kids! Putting the loot in my car now. KACBAC – where are you located? I would be happy to send it down. I go through the Red Cup drive through every day. Bet they would be sweet enough to store it until I get there. Just tell them it’s for the blue volvo chick with the two blondies in the back.
