I’m heading out this weekend to pick up a halibut (or two?). Last year was dreadful. We’ll be up in the Port Angeles area. Any tips or tricks? This is the first year we’ll be able to anchor – what’s the secret to that?

And, why are you considering embarking on this venture?

Vary the color of the squid jigs…. bring lots of colors… I dunno why but it seems that on some days they will go for green, other days oranges or yellows or even gray with metallic flakes. Assuming you are not handling them without gloves…too. Rub em good with squid juice.

65 pounder and a 35 pounder. Should net about 65 pounds of meat and I am not sharing :-)

Mike, It looks like they embarked on their adventure just for the halibut.
