VanessaParticipantYes, this will just be a pure rant! I just can’t believe how many people (mostly younger) just decide to be total flakes! You screen people over the phone, they meet the first round of requirements for a particular job. You set up an interview, convenient for their time. Then when it comes to appointment time, NO SHOW, NO CALL. No nothing. You call after 15 or 20 minutes, to see if they’re still coming or need help with directions, CRICKETS. No answers, no return calls.
Good luck building your resume little turds.
Rant complete.May 31, 2018 at 3:01 pm #918204
anonymeParticipantThey will text and engage in inane social media conversations all day and night long, but have no clue when it comes to necessary, responsible communication. Same thing happens with Craigslist buyers. They’ll bombard you with stupid details, then go completely incommunicado when they don’t show up for an appointment. Vanessa, your rant is completely valid. This behavior is disrespectful and unprofessional.

2 Much WhineParticipantThe good part is that it’s an easy way to tell the winners from the losers. You know right off the bat that they are flakes and you don’t hire them and find out weeks later that they are terrible employees. Look on the bright side, they are helping reduce your candidate pool to only those that want the job!

JanSParticipanthear, hear ! Saved yourself a wasted interview. And time, although it didn’t seem so at the time. As a self employed massage therapist, I recall many no shows, no communication. Disrespect of your time, like you had nothing better to do, weeds out the people you don’t want to see, and helps when they finally do communicate. Don’t give them a chance to waste your time a second time.
