Full Time Child Care Assistant Teacher

Hello!

We are looking for a full time (8:15-5:15, M-F) assistant teacher to work in our at home family child care located in West Seattle. We will have about 7-8 toddlers/preschoolers and 2 infants in care and are looking for someone to work alongside our two very experienced head teachers. We are looking for someone who shares our philosophy that children learn best through active play. Our ideal candidate will enjoy singing, dancing, reading with enthusiasm, crawling on the floor, painting, building block structures, asking questions, encouraging language, rocking babies and children, etc. There will be some responsibilities to help with cleaning and food preparation.

Must be able to:

– Pass a background check

– Take a TB test

– Become CPR/First Aid certified

– Get a food handlers permit

– Take an online class about child development and child care

– Do all the physical tasks needed to care for infants and toddlers, including lifting up to 30 lbs. and be able to get down on the ground and crawl.

– Read, write and speak in English

We would consider a candidate who does not have a lot of experience in the child care profession. Our experienced teachers can train the assistant on our philosophy, curriculum, and child development. We are looking for someone who loves kids, has an easy going personality, and is interested in working in this environment. We are particularly interested in candidates who live in or near West Seattle

Scholarships are available for our assistant through the Early Achiever Program for coursework for an associates or bachelors degree in early childhood family studies. We will also pay for all certificates and trainings needed to do this program. Ongoing training experiences are also available for our assistant, if interested.
