Free Healthy Home Assessments!

If you live in the city of Seattle we can work with you to find things in your home that may be making your children or family sick and suggest an action plan filled with low and no cost solutions to make your home a healthy place.

Many people can benefit from a Home Health Assessment:

People with asthma, allergies, or respiratory illness that seems worse at home.

Families with young children who may be exposed to household chemicals, lead, pesticides, dust mites and other allergens.

People who have recently moved into a new apartment or house and are experiencing more headaches or respiratory problems.

Trained Master Home Environmentalist © (MHE) volunteers use a Home Environmental Assessment List (HEAL) to help identify health hazards in your home. You and the volunteer walk through your home identifying different problem areas. There may be things you can see, like mold and mildew, and there may be things you cannot see that the volunteer can help you identify. The two of you then develop an action plan and prioritize steps you can take to create a healthier home environment, with an emphasis on low- and/or no-cost solutions. No testing or cleaning is done by the MHE volunteer.

For families with asthmatic children, we provide dust mite pillow and bed cases, walk off mats as well as vacuums!
