Found on Thursday afternoon- TREK brand bike. Seems to have fallen off of a bike carrier and bounced onto the boulevard. Distinctive color and very specific accessories. Detail what was lost and it is yours to claim.

Be more specific. Anybody could have seen that driving by. The bike’s a unique color and the accessories are too. What’s in the milk carton? What;s on the handlebars? There’s a sticker indicating where it was purchased or serviced- name of business or location?

    Bump.

Seriously, nobody wants their bike back?

What do I do with it?

    Donate it to Nickelsville?

They use bikes as part of their neighborhood security patrol, and residents can sign them out to go to the store and whatnot.

Are you sure it wasn’t stolen? I would report it to the police – they do lost/found property and if it’s not matched to a case, it eventually gets auctioned … TR

Take it to the bike shop named on the sticker you found on the bike, or at least call it. One of the mechanics might recognize it or, if it was bought there, the shop might have the serial number on file.

The bike shop is near Albany, NY. I called the number and discovered the shop is out of business. I did get a promising hit from a craigslist posting I did on the Albany craigslist site. I’ll let you all know if it is legit.

Almost solved. Owner was riding the #15 and left it on the bus. How long it rode before falling/being tossed off a northbound 21 is anybody’s guess. Owner was calling Metro but getting no results so they started trolling Craigslist. Owner will be picking bike up tomorrow.
