kootchmanMemberImmigration had nothing to do with gun running. Congress doesn’t have to spend time making him look ineffective. That happened the first year he was in office. That’a a given.
A border agent was murdered. In the line of duty. DOJ weapons were found at the scene. DOJ weapons have shown up all over Mexico and in at least two more crime scenes in the USA.
Release the documents. Job don’t repeat it over and over.. it wtill won’t be true. Holder did NOT has NOT, offered to release the full 79,000 documents. I mean c’mon… it’s been 18 months… just release the documents.
The ONLY retaliation so far… has been by the DOJ to the agents who blew the whistle.. too too too funny… the ATF agents. If the White House staff and DOJ are found to be colluding… Obama can watch the RR video for Irangate… get up in from of the National Teleprompter and come clean.
It’s not going away… and as polls are showing… it’s tracking very well … the American people want to know how dirty this is. Release the documents.

DBPMemberkootch, what are the odds of this scandal resulting in even ONE good caning?
Because if all we end up with is a few slaps on the wrist then the whole thing’s been nothing but a big waste of time and money. Oh, I suppose the Repubs will get political mileage out of this, but is that why these so-called Congressional investigations exist? —Just to help people get elected?
Wait . . . don’t answer that.
June 28, 2012 at 3:33 am #761557
kootchmanMemberNo. If Obama was co-indicted with Sandusky and they had pictures and video.. the adorants would find a republican to blame. But, I defer to the parents of the dead agent. They want the truth. We owe them that. Will this help Republicans? Might. Better, it would help the democrats and the republicans.
With both a criminal and civil vote, Holder is a gotten man. Obama might want to reread Nixon transcripts. It’s the cover-up, always the cover-up. Those are documents produced by the minions who work for us… on our dime. Other than national security, (although that is coming up too… the White House leaks) the public should be allowed to read them in real time. Those are OUR documents and if the majority of congress wants to read them… the obstruction is intolerable. It’s the job of congress to do oversight. What are the odds? Contempt of Congress is no small thing.
June 28, 2012 at 4:04 am #761558
JanSParticipantwhat the hell does Obama have to do with Sandusky…why would you even put the two in the same sentence? It’s low and tacky…one has nothing to do with the other. You are so damned sure that Obama has his fingers in F and F…did it ever, EVER occur to you that you may be wrong on some things?
Yes, we owe them the truth…do you have any idea what they’ve been told so far, except that which you read in the media or hear on Faux News?
June 28, 2012 at 4:08 am #761559
redblackParticipantLOL.
dude. there’s no “there” there.
oh. right. that’s why they call it a conspiracy.
and remind me what they call adherents of conspiracy theories…?

JaN, perhaps kootch has it on good authority, that Barack rooted for Penn State during a game.
Once.

kootchmanMemberNothing… but you would ignore it if it were true so deep is your adoration. Nixon pulled the same crap.. delayed the inevitable until the election was over. How cool would that be? Obama impeached for obstructing justice? ” I am not a crook”….
“Heaven forbid congress actually did what we sent them there to do.” We sent this congress by a landslide to do just what they are doing… stop him when you can. Remember? TEA party candidates picked up 87 congressional seats. None of them ran on a platform of more government spending, more crony deals, and expanded welfare … Taxed Enough Already…. they ARE doing their job, admirably too I might add.
Yea the President too. He is sworn to uphold and execute the laws passed by congress and previous presidents. He doesn’t get to pick and choose. Thats not in the swearing in ceremony… ” I faithfully will pander and ignore public law tot he extent it furthers my vote getting” is not in the oath of office… I checked. He had two unobstructed years to do immigration reform. Now he has to do it with a divided congress. He was states rights on gay marriage until the polls showed it was vote getting and fund raising, he was all about, in fact bragged, that he deported more illegals than any President in history…. then he started counting votes. It’s a good thing starving children doesn’t poll in his favor… what does he call it? “evolving”.. funny how he evolves 132 days before the election.
June 28, 2012 at 5:16 am #761562
miwsParticipantI don’t adore Barack.
I think term “Messiah” in relation to him is ridiculous.
However, as I’ve pointed out several times before, you eagerly refer to Wilson as “The Great One”

June 28, 2012 at 7:06 am #761563
JanSParticipantmaybe you sent congress just to get Obama out there, but I sent them to do the job of running this country…and now we see where that’s going. Nowhere. They would rather let this country sink into the quagmire just to get a man unelected..yeah…getting our money’s worth? Not on your damned life.
Adoration for Obama ….no…you actually have no clue as to how I feel. But, I blame congress (you know – Boehner, Ryan, et.al. -far more than I blame Obama at this juncture.
June 28, 2012 at 7:37 am #761564
kootchmanMemberwell you were outvoted.. as it happens. The rest of the country didn’t want him to move forward. If they did the would not have stripped democrats of their power. I will take gridlock over more wasteful spending…. any time. I wish they would take four year off, no new legislation. Just four years going through the budget cutting duplicated services, useless programs… a four year rehab program.
June 28, 2012 at 8:26 am #761565
HMC RichParticipantHi JanS, Constitutionally speaking, Obama circumvented the job of congress. From Wikipedia ….Article I, section 8, clause 4 of the United States Constitution expressly gives the United States Congress the power to establish a uniform rule of naturalization. The Immigration and Naturalization Act sets forth the legal requirements for the acquisition of, and divestiture from, citizenship of the United States. The requirements have become more explicit since the ratification of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution, with the most recent changes to statutory law having been made by the United States Congress in 2001.
It is not in his job description to mandate children of illegal aliens to become citizens.
There needs to be immigration changes. These DREAM Act type of kids through no fault of there own are in a tough situation. No doubt, and the Federal Government makes citizenship very difficult for many to achieve.
Congress may not, as you say, be doing much about immigration right now. Don’t blame just the Republicans on this. Remember for close to two years Mr. Obama and Congress could have pushed through immigration changes just like they did with Obamacare. But they didn’t because he looked unbeatable two years ago. Now, not so much. Now he is pandering for votes.
I don’t deny there is gridlock, but as Kootch states, that is not a bad thing is some peoples minds. In fact, I would say it is a good thing to have these kinds of checks and balances. In fact, I wish these representatives would only work in DC for about 3 months, then come home so that they can be part of the people they represent and not just some part of the DC Machine.
Let me ask you this. I don’t want this to happen and it can’t, but lets use some of the fears the left has. Let’s say that Republicans held the house, senate and White House. And lets say they decided to somehow completely defund social security and force people to buy bonds, or stocks for retirement purposes, even if they couldn’t afford to do that in the first place. And if they did not they would get fined anyway.
Would you want that?
Well, that is how we feel about Obamacare. Republicans had no say. And for the Federal Government to force people to buy healthcare, especially if you are young, and to send the IRS after you if you don’t, kind of takes away too much of our personal liberty. Don’t you think?
As much as I would like some issues to change, I defer to our countries constitution.
June 28, 2012 at 11:28 am #761566
kootchmanMemberY’know.. here is the DOJ… Supreme Court has ruled in Indiana that states have the right to provide for the integrity of the vote. Ir was settled case law. Done. So what does DOJ do? Sues all the right leaning states …. and predictable as rain… after millions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of wasted hours.. DOJ gets its hand slapped and Florida was given the green light to continue voter ID verification. what say you JoB… would this be a political witch hunt?Jam? why is DoJ wasting precious state and federal resources to rehash settled case law.. ? This is costing the states and federal government a hell of lot more than fast and furious. wait until Obama gets overruled in the Supreme Court for his immigration call …. good lord… did he attend ANY classes at Harvard?
June 28, 2012 at 11:33 am #761567
kootchmanMemberThis is the great constitutional scholar we elected as Prez? No wonder they won’t release his college grades… they probably all say “present”. Executive privilege he can find in his scholarly mind… did he cut classes when states rights were discussed? Seems so.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A federal judge has refused to stop Florida from removing potentially non-U.S. citizens from its voter rolls.
The U.S. Department of Justice sued the state to halt the purge, arguing it was going on too close to a federal election.
U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle said Wednesday that there was nothing in federal voting laws that prevent the state from identifying non-U.S. citizens even if it comes less than 90 days before the Aug. 14 election.
Hinkle ruled that federal laws are designed to block states from removing eligible voters close to an election. He said they are not designed to stop states from blocking voters who should have never been allowed to cast ballots in the first place.
Gov. Rick Scott praised Hinkle’s decision, saying “irreparable harm will result if non-citizens are allowed to vote.”
I am all for immigration reform. Let’s keep the good ones.. the ones that have achieved at a minimum a HS diploma, higher ed, get them a green card and the mandatory 7 year wait .immediate citizenship upon compeltion of an enlistment or permanently disabled in combat.. the scum… like the gang bangers… send em’ to their country of origin. Do what is in our national interest, Republicans will go for that. But no mas…. time to close the border.
June 28, 2012 at 12:49 pm #761568
redblackParticipantRemember for close to two years Mr. Obama and Congress could have pushed through immigration changes just like they did with Obamacare.
no, they couldn’t PP/ACA squeaked through, and a few corporate democrats almost scuttled it.
stop acting like republicans got railroaded and had a bunch of distasteful socialist programs rammed up their skirts.
it never happened.
the house passed over 400 bills to the senate during that period, and there they died waiting to come out of committee. (hey and remember how boehner whined when pelosi announced that they would be working closer to 40 hours a week instead of their usual 10? that was pretty funny. but it looks like now we’re back to happy hour days in the house.)
read some history for a change and quit mixing kool-aid with your vodka.

JanSParticipantHMC Rich..he did not mandate that these illegal children become citizens. This was about deporting them to a country they know nothing about, having grown up here in the US. It may open the door for citizenship, but it’s not a guarantee. And congress voted down the Dream Act. They were doing nothing as far as immigration is concerned. Hence, the “circumvention”. Why you guys are upset really gets to me, since most everyone(including those on the right) is saying this was the right decision.
And, “Obamacare”? well, we now know where that is going…Supreme Court upheld it…
June 28, 2012 at 6:07 pm #761571
kootchmanMemberThey upheld it as a TAX..remember his promise… no new taxes for the middle class? This is going to be a whopper. AND… he invalidated the puntitive measure for the states that do not set up his mandated health exchanges.. HHS cannot cut Medicaid… the 29 states who sued to not set up the exchanges won. Let’s see now how many of you get health care… when your employer can drop you, pay a $2000 fine instead of paying 13,000 for family coverage..you are going to get told buy it on the exchange..good luck! … and you will have to find your own coverage. This should be interesting… you aren’t home safe yet… not by any measure. we still have an election… brush up on your Greek! This will fire up the Republican base…!!!! Romney rec’d 1.7 milllion this morning… within three hours of the announcement.
June 28, 2012 at 7:09 pm #761572

Damn!
All these years I wasted learning Chinese, for that inevitable takeover, and now I have to learn a whole, new, διαγράφεται βλαστήμια language!

so much misinformation about businesses, small businesses, and what businesses will have to or not have to pay regarding healthcare. Sigh.
June 28, 2012 at 7:39 pm #761574
kootchmanMemberNo, the Chinese are solvent miws. Sigh… if the government is as good at regulating healthcare as they have banking, trade, housing, we are in for a tough sled ride. Yea and the real estate is cheap as dirt as is Costa del Sol….

socamrParticipantKootch,
Here’s your “whopper” of a tax hike: $95 for not having health insurance.
WOW – THAT IS THE LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY! RUN FOR CANADA!!
(Oh wait, they already have universal health care there).
June 30, 2012 at 9:10 am #761578
kootchmanMemberNice try socmar… that is the MINIMUM penalty… adjusted for income. It’s not nice to obfuscate. And now that it is a “tax”… the sky is the limit.
Obamacare, by contrast, has a minimum individual penalty of $95 in 2014, $325 in 2015, and rising up to 2.5 percent of income (or $2,085 maximum) per family in 2016. IF you get child credit…. first the 2,085 will be deduced from your return., Ooops!
Like I said.,.. people will always look out for their own self interest… first. (well, most will..) when they have reached their individual level of comfort and security… then they release their better angels.
Since you all on the left choose to point out that Ronmeycare is Obamacare…. let’s see how that little experiment is going shall we?
http://news.heartland.org/newspaper-article/obamacare-individual-mandate-unlikely-work
It’s going to be a colossal scam. Ya think those hours and hours of meetings with the insurance industry are going to get “privilaged” too?
socamr… in the words of the Great Twitch… you’ll get to read it once it has passed… well, it has passed, you can read it now… oh no… you can’t they are still writing more goodies into the package…. well you read Vers 1.0 … They can’t keep track of 2000 rifles. let alone 360 million insurance policies… I am sure we will be amazed at the deviations and contortions and the amount of fraud…. why would it be any different than any other federal program?
