anonymeParticipantI just purchased some natural-fiber drapes made in China that have a horrendous chemical odor. Does anyone know of a good ‘green’ dry cleaner, preferably in West Seattle? Corry’s advertises themselves as such, but I have my doubts… I also don’t want to spend more on the cleaning than I spent on the drapes!
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

christopherboffoliParticipantWell unfortunately they’re not in West Seattle, but Blue Sky Cleaners (1111 Elliott Ave West) uses environmentally friendly liquid CO2 for their cleaning, as opposed to the perchloroethylene (perc) used by most traditional dry cleaners.

Michael WaldoParticipantI go to Holiday Cleaners at 35th Ave Sw and Roxbury st.It is on the NE corner, next to a cig shop and pizza place. They do eco clean. It never smells when I get stuff back.

HunterGParticipantI highly recommend Blue Sky Cleaners. Visit them the first time in person, but after that the account is set up… they have free pick up and drop off days (I think it is Tuesdays and Fridays in West Seattle). Very reasonable charges too – and who can beat free pick up and drop off?

mrskittenMemberThanks for the recommendations! We have been looking for a good cleaners in WS. So far each place we have gone is either too expensive (Cory’s), ruined a very expensive shirt and tried to hide it (First cleaners at Fauntleroy and 35th) and shrunk the coat sleeves of a suit (Checkmate on Morgan). We will definitely be checking Blue Sky out.
