I’ve heard that the food bank really doesn’t want to be a candy dump, so we’re looking for somewhere to send the heaps of extra sweets. Do you know of anyone or any place taking in candy?

The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance has a volunteer desk (Guest Services) in the lobby of the clinic. Patients, families and staff love to stop at the candy dish . . . call 206-288-1072 to arrange delivery.

Sometimes a small sweet treat is just what is needed to get through a tough day!

Schmitz Park Elementary is gathering candy from their students and trying to get 1,000 lbs in to give:

“Halloween Candy Collection – November 1-8

Classrooms will be collecting candy for our candy drive starting Nov.1, the day after Halloween. Last year we collected over 650 lbs our goal this year is 1000lbs!! I know we can do it! Just bring in SOME of the candy you collected trick or treating and Nov 8 we will weigh and see what we have. IF we reach our goal there will be an ALL SCHOOL surprise!!!”

I’ve also heard of operation Gratitude which sends some to our military around the world.

Looks like local dentists are helping out with that and will even pay you for it!

I know a great charity and would be happy to deliver on your behalf. . . . please deposit all your candy right here in my pocket. Yah, that’s the ticket. I promise it will go to a good cause (fingers crossed behind back). Full size Heath Bars only, please.

Seriously, this candy has to go. I work from home, and I think I’ve gone through at least 10 Hershey bars and the same for Reese’s cups.

Hi!! I volunteer with a Christian ministry< Caleb Good News Ministry> (you can check it out online or through U-Tube. Twice a hear we pack up gift packages to send to other countries for the children. The pack includes small toys, crayons, coloring sheets and candies. We have a party to do this in July and on News Years Eve, wonderful family opportunity for families to celebrate the New Year together. We do all of this through donations and if anyone is interested in donating left over Hallowe’en candy( no Hallowe’en packaging though) I will gladly pick it up and transport to our holding area. The children of Romania, Phillipines, Africa and India love these packages and for most of these children they receive very little of these types of items, since poverty is abundant in the area that our ministry visits. If you are unable to donate, please say a prayer for these children, they need our help.
