Hi, all. I haven’t posted here in a while but wanted to share this.

I found a promo code through work (UW) for restaurant.com and it is until Nov 8. Promo code is MEAL and gives you 70% off of the price for the gift certificates. For instance, a $25 gift cert is $15 but you get it for $4.50 with the promo. There are restrictions as my friend told me. It’s my first time but if you’ve used it before maybe you’d like it. There are several WS restaurants listed on their site.

That is a good deal if you can make it work, but I’ve found restaurant.com certificates a pain in the ass to use.

interesting…I’ve used restaurant.com gift certificates quite a few times, have never had a problem…they’ve been graciously accepted wherever I have used them.

I have more problems with their website than I do with the certificates. Last time I had a bunch of stuff in my cart for a 90% sale code and it kept crapping out on me, and then I couldn’t get back in to order them before the sale ended. Just as well, since I had 4 Cafe Revo certificates there, and it was a week before they closed down.

Speaking of which, Restaurant.com still has Cafe Revo on their site. I emailed them right after they closed to let them know (and link to the WSB news story and Revo’s site), and they replied on 10/21 to thank me and said they’d take it off ASAP. 3 weeks later, it’s still on there. So if you are buying a certificate to a restaurant you don’t know well, you might want to make sure it still exists.
