cbj225Memberi was in a car accident last firday, and my neck and back are sore. i would like to go to chiropractor and get this checked out, but am not sure where to go. i have read some of dr. tri and am interested in checking him out because his clinic seems focus on athletes and getting people back into their sports. has anyone seen him or have any feed back?

JanSParticipantI am not familiar with “Dr. Tri”, so can’t give advice there. I usually recommend one of two Chiro’s in the immediate area. One is Dr. Bryan Wiebe, http://www.fauntleroychiro.com he’s gentle and thorough. Also you might try Dr. Harold Rasmussen in the 4100 block of Calif. Ave. SW…

WSBKeymasterAnd in case you need to find Dr. Wiebe’s contact info again, since he’s a WSB sponsor, it’s in an ad in the sidebar (green ad w/black-and-white photo, beneath the Swedish Automotive ad). Glad to hear he “rates” with Jan, since she’s a healing-arts professional!

Heinz57MomMemberI highly recommend Dr. Clayman on Roxbury at Roxhill Spine and Wellness. I was in a car accident (T-boned by drunk driver) 6 years ago just before getting pregnant. Recovery seemed to be non-existent until I started seeing Dr. Clayman a year ago. He wasn’t my first chiropractor but he’s certainly the best I’ve ever seen.

pixel pusherMemberI can highly recommend Dr Tri. I have been using him periodically for 2 years to treat my lower back and he is great! And if you are an athlete, he is definitely geared towards helping you get back into your sport or exercise routine. And his videos are pretty good too.

carrieannMemberI’d been wondering about chiropractors in the area, too, so I’m glad someone asked. I’d been going to a massage therapist (whom I adore), but as awesome as my insurance is they don’t cover even a cent toward massage therapy. They do, however, cover chiropractic care, so I’m going to have to look into some of the above-mentioned and see about setting up an appointment.
Thanks for the info!

KristaCCAPMemberWe see Dr. Catherine Sparks. She is great, has a great accupuncturist and massage therapist in her office as well. 206-441-3107. She also has an office downtown.

JanSParticipantCarrieann…that sucks re: insurance not covering massage. So many do, but all an insurance company has to do is offer massage on one of their policies…not all of them. And there can be different policies within an insurance company. Their way of getting around the laws in WA state…

r26MemberI like Dr Wiebe too – very good and nice.

rockergirlMemberDr. Rasmussen is awesome – helped me a lot when I got rear ended and also when my back has issues. His clinic is the West Seattle Chiropractic Clinic on California Ave.
They will usually get you in same day if you are in pain.

carrieannMemberJan – That’s a good point. I’ll have to look into it more, but I don’t think I have the option of another policy (husband works at MSFT, so I’m covered on his). And I certainly appreciate the awesome coverage we have, because everything else has been completely covered (no co-pays, no cost for prescriptions, zero cost when I was pregnant/had both of my children, etc.) So, for now, I’ll look into the chiropractic care, and save the massages for a “splurge”.

LibertybellParticipantTo throw another name into the pool… Amy Bovenkamp at Bovenkamp Chiropratic /Choice Chiropratic at 3703 California Ave. SW, Suite A • 206 937-3965. Dr. Bovenkamp has treated me for two car accidents. The last being a severe rear end accident. Dr. B was thorough in her exams and treatments. The M.D. that I was seeing misread my MRI results. Dr. Bovenkamp, questioned those findings and only when she referred me to a neurologist, to verify the findings, did we find out that there were 2 pinched nerves in my neck. If not for her dedication to finding the root cause of my condition, my treatment would have been prolonged and may not have been resolved. I am VERY thankful to her and recommend her highly. If you want good complete care – Amy Bovenkamp is the chiropractor for you!!!

SueParticipantI also would recommend Dr. Bovenkamp – I also had a similar experience with her as Libertybell – a problem that she suspected needed someone else’s care rather than hers (and she was right), and the orthopedist she recommended was one of the best I’d seen.

undrgrndmwnMemberDr. Tri (Michael Ross) is hands down the best chiropractor I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen quite a lot thru the years. He approaches the body as a mechanical system, noting thru direct observation and interviews where the problem is (didn’t even suggest unnecessary x-rays). He assigns a lot of homework (exercises) to help you regain range or motion, strength, and agility.

michaelpradipMemberHey,
I hope this is not too untimely to help.
I tried several Chiropractors before staying with Dr. Bailey Ferkel at Advanced Back and Neck Pain Clinic, 4621 35TH AVE SW, just North of Alaska st.
He does manual manipulation, Activator, and pressure release points.
And he is a nice guy.
