karenParticipantHi. I am a mom of an ADHD child. I wondered if there are any other parents in the West Seattle area that are working with this. OK, there must be! I am sure I’m not the only one.
Anyhow, it would be nice to meet up with other parents who understand some of the challenges and joys that ADHD bring to any activity.
I have one child in second grade who is diagnosed and one in preschool who probably will be soon!
Any one out there wish to converse, meet or play?

WSMomParticipantKaren: I would love to meet with you to talk about the joys and frustrations of ADHD. Let’s set up a day and time at a West Seattle coffee shop (maybe C&P, it is nice a cozy).

KenParticipantInteresting link if you have not seen it before.

BTW some of the best programmers I have known were ADHD as children.

karenParticipantThanks for that link. Interesting theory.
Notice I said the challenge AND joy? I believe there is a lot of good stuff that comes with ADHD. I really don’t think it’s necessarily a negative thing to have, it just doesn’t work within the boundaries of social expectations for children sometimes.
I have no interest in complaining about my lot in life, my poor kid has the horrible thing, blah, blah. I would like to meet other parents that “get it” when I say that my kid did this or that.

karenParticipantWhere is C&P? I have not been there, yet.
How about a Tuesday afternoon?
Anyone else interested in meeting up?

karenParticipantYes! I’ll be there!
(Sorry I didn’t check back sooner. You know, they say a lot of kids with ADHD have parents that have it, too!)
