CroweMemberThe only farmers I know are on Vashon, and too far to donate egg cartons. If anyone here needs egg cartons for eggs, not sure how many of you have chickens. But, My kiddo and I go through a lot of eggs and would love to give empty cartons to any chicken people :O)

jissyParticipantCrowe — you might want to check with some of the vendors/farmers at the Farmers Market(s).

celeste17ParticipantSometimes Coffee to a Tea will use Egg Cartons for their mini cupcakes. Or you could try a preschool. I would think that a preschool that goes year round could use them.

KatherineLParticipantI doubt the Health Dep’t allows any commercial place to reuse cartons. Even PCC is no longer allowed to refill containers for me that I’ve brought in.
A preschool sounds like a good idea.

lindaParticipantPassed this information on to a co-worker who works here in West Seattle and raises organic chickens on Vashon. She’s interested, if I knew how to PM, I’d send you her email address.

miwsParticipantlinda, The PM function is currently disabled.
If you e-mail WSB, editor@westseattleblog.com they’ll be able to put you in touch with Crowe.

AlcinaParticipantThe White Center Food Bank (WCFB) needs all the egg cartons they can get. They just recently started getting eggs in bulk, but they need egg cartons so that their clients can get the eggs home safely.
I’ve got everyone I know saving egg cartons for the WCFB.

CroweMemberThat is great! We will not be short egg cartons anytime soon. So will donate to them and the other folks who are interested. Thanks for the resource.

carrieannMemberAlcina, our 6-person household goes through its fair share of eggs, so I’ll have to see if I can’t get everyone to set aside the empty cartons and start taking them over the to foodbank once we get a stack. Thanks for that info!

lindaParticipantThanks Mike! I had a major “doh” moment when, shortly after I had posted my message, I saw the post about PM not currently being available. I did go ahead and follow those instructions.

carrieannMemberJust saw this post on craigslist, from someone willing to pay for extra egg cartons…
http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/wan/1238635556.html
Not sure if they (or you) are willing to travel that far, but thought I’d pass it along, never the less.
