In2theknightMemberAnyone know where I can exchange CA coins for US (that doesn’t involve me going back to CA)? I went to my bank, Wamu, but they only exchange paper money and had no suggestions on where else to go. I didn’t realize I had so many $1 and $2 coins when I came back from Vancouver last weekend.

cjboffoliParticipantin2theknight: When I come back from abroad with pockets full of foreign coins my favorite thing to do with them is to put them in an envelope and mail them to the UNICEF “Change for Good” program. They accept foreign coins in any currency for the benefit of the great work that UNICEF does for children all over the world. The address is: U.S. Fund for UNICEF, ATTN: Change for Good Program, 125 Maiden Lane, New York, NY 10038

SueParticipantA few years ago I was stuck with a lot of canadian coins, and couldn’t find anyone who would change over coins – they only seemed interested in bills.
I am up in Canada about once a month and I could buy some or all of the coins from you (depending on how many you have) since I need cash when I go up there anyway. PM me if you want to work something out.

In2theknightMemberSue, thank you very much for your offer, but I really dig cjboffoli’s idea. Something tells me the UNICEF kids need it more than I do.

deathlemonsMemberI know this is old but I hope it helps someone. Northgate Rare Coin Shop
539-G NE Northgate Way
Seattle, WA 98125 (888) 509-3689
I just went there today and they gave me .50 cents on the dollar for coins and .95 cents on the dollar for paper money for canadian currency. Not the best, but better then just having those coins piled up.
