JanSParticipantThe concert at Cafe Rozella this coming Friday is a group called Children of the Revolution (actually, just part of the whole group). They are wonderful, and the lead singer, Vassili, is hot, hot, hot ! I’m going to try my damnest to get there and see them. Anyone want to join me? A meet-up with entertainment?

WSBKeymasterThey are awesome indeed. Used to be regular performers at a local church I used to go to. We’ll watch this thread – we dropped by Cafe R last Friday night to get a quick video clip of that night’s performer (Alma Villegas) for White Center Now, and hope to do the same this week.

JanSParticipantI’ve been following these guys for years…and, yes, awesome is definitely a good way to describe them. They definitely make you want to get up and dance :) And…I will share their CD’s, if anyone is interested :)

JoBParticipantJanS.. i think we have company coming.. but that shouldn’t stop us from joining you

JanSParticipantbumping this up because it sounds like a lot of people on here need a fun night out, good music to get the soul – and feet moving :)

RSMemberHey Jan, we might stop by on Friday! :)
August 20, 2008 at 6:40 pm #634605
JoBParticipantJanS..
i can’t dance.. but i will toe tap with you.
i sent the link to their website to hubby… and he grinned.

JanSParticipantif you can, listen to their song “Guantanamo Bay”…I think you’ll understand their political leaning – lol. They sometimes end a concert saying ” may all your revolutions be musical ones”…and it really is terrific music. The full crew has Irish, Iraqi,Israel (Jewish), US, sometimes Venezuela, Spain, Greece…all represented..and sometimes more..

ErikParticipantJoB – Even a lil wiggle counts as dancing!
August 20, 2008 at 9:11 pm #634608

charlabobParticipantMan I do love me that revolutionary music. And I’m in the mood. How’s the seating and the accessibility? (Steps? Chairs? Lean, drunkenly on the bar?) If I can get a ride, a seat, and someone to tap my toes for me, I’m there :-)
August 20, 2008 at 11:35 pm #634611
JoBParticipantcharlabob..
it’s flat.. there is seating and you can bring your own lawn chair to the plaza.. and if you bring a reclining lawn chair (yes, i have one of those) wiggling your toes won’t be stressful.
i would volunteer to take you.. but we are having company and i suspect the car will be full.
i can throw in extra chairs tho…

JanSParticipantand I hear the sun might come back for a visit…:)
August 22, 2008 at 9:18 pm #634613
JanSParticipantYES! The sun is shining, so it won’t rain on the party. I am going because I need to not be a recluse this evening. If anyone else goes, just yell my name over the crowd, and I’ll yell back :)
August 22, 2008 at 10:56 pm #634614
charlabobParticipantJoB, I just read your response — thanks, that’s so sweet! Unfortunately, I’m on both Obama-VEEP and bob-come-home-from-work watch, so I’m gonna have to stay home. I guess this means the revolution will have to be televised. (OK, how many people remember *that* reference?)
Jan, I may have to borrow the CDs.
August 23, 2008 at 3:34 pm #634615
JoBParticipantAll i can say is a lot of you missed a great concert.. wonderful flamenco dancing.. and a great little coffee shop. JanS joined us and we had a great time.
Jan.. you missed the group at Full Tilt.. it was their first ever public appearance.. and if the video is any indication, they got a lot better after they relaxed.
they have a writers group there the second and 4th saturdays at 4.. i think. I would check. anyone banking on my memory for dates and times will miss wonderful opportunities.
cudos to the couple who showed up with their lawn chairs and showed us how it could be done.
