I loved inorganic rubbish pick-up day when I lived in one of those cities two states south of here. As a renter we never got the notices of the actual date, but it was easy to figure out when each driveway was suddenly filled with great mounds of junk, and then the scavengers would drive around in their pick-ups salvaging whatever they could. It was a mess for maybe 24 hours and then, poof, gone. It was a very helpful amenity…sadly one that Seattle doesn’t offer. I haven’t seen city dump coupons and have lived in WS nearly six years. I wonder if I’m recycling them as junk mail…?
