We went to a restaurant near home again tonight, Bohemian.

The bartender brother of the establishment, Erick, made a great traditional martini for me and a West Side Cosmo for Charla. They were both good enough for us to have seconds.

The chef brother, Jason, had a special; crab cakes with a delicious salad of field greens, cherry tomatoes, pine nuts and vinaigrette. Their crab cakes are just that, thick patties of Dungeness crab held together with a light aioli and cooked perfectly to have a nice crunchy exterior and just warm on the inside. They are just the best. No celery, no chili paste, no all the other jazz people come up with to put in crab cakes. Just lots of crab cooked perfectly.

There were two cakes on the plate with a good portion of salad, and when we were finished with that shared plate, Emma, our server, came by and we had a nice conversation, then asked what she thought would be good for dessert.

The Chocolate “OH” is divine, it makes you say: “Oh!”. Two wonderful brownies with a scoop of ice cream laced with a hint of lavender with hazelnuts on top. Don’t leave the place without it (in your belly.)

The Bohemian Chai tea is a wonderfully aromatic and pleasingly tasty tea spiced with cinnamon, vanilla and star anise, among others. Delicious.

Bohemian is a great place to go on a Wednesday night after work. You should go, too. Art on the walls, jazz on the sound system, friendly people, memorable food; there’s a lot to like there.

FYI, we went to get brunch there on Saturday and they’ve switched to a Sunday only brunch schedule.

We were just there last night and try to visit as often as possible. The brothers are great and so is the food. Top on my list.

I love Bohemian, too and have had the dessert. It really was heavenly. There is something about that place that really makes me savor my food and wine as opposed to scarfing it down. The severs do a nice job of serving but not hovering. Ya, I need to go now!!!
