susieq29ParticipantSeems like it’s hard to find a restaurant around here (not even just W. Seattle) that makes a good, large piece of chocolate cake!? Want to celebrate son’s birthday and that’s what he really wants.
The Met is always a good choice but kind of a pain to get to (and kinda pricey!). Any other aficionados mind telling me where they go for chocolate cake? Ballard, Magnolia, Bellevue are not too far to go for this!!!
1st world problems of course…. :-)

GracianoParticipantGo to the store and buy some Hersey’s cocoa, directions are on the back of the container…

anonymeParticipantPCC makes a great chocolate cake. You could either try the Burien store or wait until our West Seattle store re-opens on Oct. 2nd. I think a single slice is around $3.50.

susieq29ParticipantUggghhhh…no offense but that’s terrible stuff….Hershey’s is pretty much bottom of the barrel for chocolate…

SueParticipantI haven’t eaten wheat in well over a year, so my info might be outdated. But I used to really enjoy the chocolate cake slices at PCC. Might also try Bakery Nouveau.

GAnativeParticipantTry Circa. They have a really good chocolate cake but I don’t know if it’s an everyday menu item.

DaveBParticipantI second Circa.

BCRParticipantCirca hands down!

melissaParticipantDeep Sea Sugar and Salt in Georgetown has the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had. I mean, I love Bakery Nouveau for croissants, but DSS&S has ’em beat with their chocolate cake by a significant margin. There’s a chocolate cake with a salted caramel drizzle that’s particularly fantastic. Great crumb, not too sweet (but sweet enough), delicious frosting. Okay. Now you’ve done it; I want a piece!

odrokuParticipantI stand on Team Melissa.
Whatever your cake needs may be, Deep Sea Sugar and Salt is your destination. Well, check their page to see what they have, because it differs from day to day.
Not cheap. Not nearby. But incredible cake. (and get yourself a slice of London Fog if any is left. MAN that’s good!)

GracianoParticipantMy point was, make it yourself. Your kid will be more impressed that you made the cake vs bought it.

VanessaParticipantBakery Nouveau has my vote as well. It’s like a bread but it is really a cake. We had it for our wedding. And I always gift it as needed.Mmmmm
