addParticipantI will be ordering a cake for a special occasion next week. I know all about Bakery Nouveau :)- but I’m also interested in some other recommendations for local awesome bakeries. Thank you!

BonnieParticipantI got a cake from The Salvadorean Bakery once and it was delicious!!

GinaParticipantStuffed Cakes has the best cupcakes. Can’t speak for their cake.

LindseyParticipantI second the recommendation for Salvadorean Bakery. Their dulce de leche cakes are to die for.
…and now I’m going to have to get one this weekend.

rwParticipantYES for the Salvadoran Bakery and their tres leche cakes. They have a lot of other goodies as well. Both disappointed and relieved that we don’t live closer.

BonnieParticipantSorry Lindsey to bring it up because dang that was a good cake! (and I am not a cake lover!)

justduckyParticipantNot WS, but I just cannot walk by ‘A Piece of Cake’ in the ID without going in. They sell their most popular cakes by the slice. Got many compliments from my friends on the cake I got there a few months ago, everybody had seconds, a few had thirds.

cherableParticipantBorracchinis on Rainier – FABULOUS cakes and pastries. http://www.nowcake.com/

MercyMoiParticipantMy 8yo requests his cakes from Yummy House Bakery in the ID, which makes a deliciously light spongy cake with fresh whipped cream and fruit. They have a stand in the Uwajimaya food court and a bakery kitty corner to Uwaji’s. Party guests of all ages always rave about that cake – partly because it’s so light and different and not too sickly sweet.
My husband, however, prefers his white chocolate ganache cake from the QFC bakery in the Junction.

anonymeParticipantPCC has some pretty great cakes. My favorites are the coconut custard or the German chocolate, but they have several different kinds. You can buy them whole or by the slice.

celeste17ParticipantThe original bakery in Fauntleroy did cakes in the past but not sure if they still do.

Brittanyjholmberg@yahoo.com, she is local and delivers.
She made the cake for my daughters bridal shower and
wedding cakes. Yes, a small wedding cake and 2 different
kinds of sheet cake. Everyone raved about them.

datamuseParticipantThey don’t anymore, celeste17. Bums me out because one of my friends really liked them and we always got her birthday cakes there.

addParticipantThanks for all the great ideas – I think I’m going to go with the Yummy House. A lighter cake sounds just right for a bridal shower brunch and their costs are reasonable. I’ll report back after tasting!

MercyMoiParticipantYou won’t be disappointed. They’ve earned their Yummy title!

addParticipantHappy to report that the Mixed Fruit Cake from Yummy House bakery was delicious! Light and tasty, and very pretty too, it was the perfect choice for a bridal shower brunch. We sampled a few other things from the bakery and they were all great too. Thanks again for the suggestion!
