JenVMemberis being forced out of Ballard due to development. So sad. Maybe they should try West Seattle!

charlabobParticipantNooooooooooooooo! That’s at least half the reason we moved up here :-( Maybe 3/4.

WSBKeymasterI still don’t have any leads on what’s going into Blackbird, so who knows, maybe that’s it. If you read the announcement carefully, it doesn’t necessarily say the “concept” is a restaurant!

AnonymousInactiveSay it isn’t so. I live for devil duck.

ToddinWestwoodMemberJust the thing to get White Center fired back up in the right direction.!!!!!!!!!

BayouMemberI love Archies soo much, it would be such a shame to see them leave Seattle.
Todd, that’s a great idea! So I just emailed them to invite them to the westside. :) If anyone else would like to do the same:

ellenaterMemberwasn’t there some toy law passed that was going to drive Archie’s out of business? Something about labeling? I remember reading something about that awhile back.
I LOVE the cold war unicorns!

charlabobParticipantOriginally the toy safety law was supposed to hurt Archie’s:

flowerpetalMemberI wish I had thought of White Center as a possible future home for Archie’s. I was thinking George Town would be a good fit… but now I think White Center is a brilliant idea. Is there a piece of real estate sitting empty or expected to be empty soon? I can’t picture a vacant space large enough.
September 19, 2008 at 3:56 pm #639685
ellenaterMemberThanks charlabob.
It looks like it may still hurt them. I couldn’t find anything really recent. I’m curious about the lead standards…

Arbor Heights GuyMemberThe old Safeway store on 15th would be good and big. The closed Schucks on 16th is probably too small. One of my wifes favorite stores.

JoBParticipantWhen i was in there this last weekend, the owner said that they have some options but are not announcing anything until they have a signed deal… which he expected to have soon.
