Has anyone had a company come out to install radon mitigation fans in their house? Tempted to do so for our basement but can’t find a recommended company in the area. Thanks!

We live in a very low radon area (not much uranium or thorium in the soil here). So radon mitigation is not usually necessary. Have you had a high test or something?

Yep, checked the charts and we’re in the middle of the three categories. Not the highest, not the lowest. Having a family member sleep and work in the basement and the radon level is a little over 1 which is below the EPA concerning limit of 4 but still, it’s twice as high as our upstairs. Wouldn’t mind reducing that number more so just to be safe.

1 pCi/l is still the lowest zone. (2 pCi/l is the zone 3 cutoff). Pretty minimal, but if that’s a concern, a simple fan would probably be fine if your basement is really sealed well.

Our company has used Advanced Radon Technologies out of Spokane. In the past, Dave has come over to the Puget Sound area for maintenance and installation of mitigation fans for vapor intrusion issues (explained on his website). He has many years experience. I’d give him a call to discuss your concerns. http://advancedradontech.net/
