revgMemberI live a few blocks from the small triangle of land between Home Depot and the Tug Tavern, adjacent to the AMPM. Haven’t gone down Sylvan for quite a while, so I was surprised to see a new building under construction.
The Land Use Permit sign was waterlogged and unreadable. Anyone know what’s going in there? Tried searching WSB for info, couldn’t find anything that fit.

revgMemberIt is. Just wondering if anyone knows what the “retail building” might be for.

JanSParticipantI suppose you could ask the editor if she has followed up, gotten any more information…..

WSBKeymasterSherwin-Williams has never confirmed our questions about the reports it’ll be a store for them, but we had heard from multiple sources that’s what it was, to the point we stopped bothering the PR people. The land-use file now has items confirming that’s what it is (see the specific line item involving a sign):

revgMemberHuh. Just what the hordes have not exactly been clamoring for I guess, but yes thanks!

trickycooljParticipantHuh paint store. Not what I’ve been guessing since they started clearing the lot around Thanksgiving. Seems like an odd spot especially with how hard it is to maneuver on that side of the Arco lot. (not that I go there anymore!)

WSBKeymasterWe don’t have a dedicated paint store here in West Seattle – funny thing is, while we’ll be a small-potatoes customer, we bought all the paint at Sherwin-Williams (interior) when we moved into our house almost exactly 20 years ago and repainted all the rooms … and with little repainting, it’s held up well. We are going to redo two of them sometime this spring and at this rate the shop will probably be open before we get around to it!
Oh also, one person who e-mailed us about it said that Sherwin-Williams has a thing for opening stores by Home Depots. Makes synergistic sense …

KK50ParticipantHave made multiple trips to buried sherwin Williams the past few weeks and an employee told me they are indeed building a new store across from the Delridge HD
