They look hand carved and that they would have a lot of sentimental value. One of the pieces is of a canoe. Found today so probably lost today or yesterday.

i will be da puffin’s transportation..

i am sorry so many women bought the storyline about feminism… it was their loss
one of these days they will figure that out..
but until then i too would just as soon be in process with people who embrace the term.

    Posting for a reader:

Hello Morgan Junction families… My 10 year old son just accidentally released his 4 mylar birthday balloons into the air from our Beveridge Place home and they floated away. Probably not the smartest thing he’s ever done. 😔😣The problem is, that these 4 balloons were clipped to a small Ziploc bag that had pieces to a robotic arm that he also received as a gift from his grandmother. The pieces are irreplaceable without buying a whole new robotic arm set. If anyone should find these 4 mylar balloons or the snack size Ziploc with small wires and possible plastic and metal pieces, could you please email me? Amy Starner

I used the word Feminist with complete intent and do not plan to circumvent it. I want to be in process with women comfortable identifying as Feminist. We start on a stronger ground for difficult discussions. If it takes a bit longer to get five to eight women, that is fine. When we get together we will rock.

Part of the problem might be the word “feminist”. Even today, I’ve observed very negative reactions to it from both men and women – even women whose lives embody the very concept of feminism. As someone who was around during the inception of the movement, I find this disturbing and challenge it whenever possible. If you do some research, this taint was no accident. There was a strong political backlash that set out to deliberately trivialize and discredit the movement. For example, the famous “bra-burning” that never happened, and the label “bra-burner” that followed.

Might make for an interesting discussion once you’ve found a way to circumvent the “F” word.

Eastern cottontails have naturalized all over the state. There are lots of them around Fauntleroy. Google a pic and see if there’s a resemblance. The ones I’ve seen are more buff than grey, and not very fearful.

Aside from their prolific nature and Peter’s appetite for your home-grown produce, there’s not much to worry about. They are subject to a disease called tularemia, which can be a risk to humans in cases of close contact. I think that rabbits, like coyotes and raccoons, are becoming another species of urbanized wildlife that we must adjust to sharing space with as humans gobble up wild habitat.

Mixed experiences. First time, food was wonderful, attentive service and zero complaints. Sent photos to JanS, LOL.

A couple of weeks ago, poached eggs in husband’s Benedict were not only soft, but more or less raw. Took a while to get server attention and point out the error. By that time, we needed to leave and couldn’t wait for a new serving to be cooked. Evidently, kitchen staff is still on a learning curve. They subtracted 30% off of that one dish on the bill.

I haven’t checked out the restrooms, but my husband said they could have been cleaner.

Asked if they will have a Senior menu, and was told that they probably will, but not yet.

Will probably give them another chance down the road, but not likely to order poached eggs. 😞

    Coming from a dysfunctional neighborhood to a truly excellent one, I am fortunate to have the neighbors I have. We aren’t immune from the crime in the area but take it from a burglar, knowing your neighbor is a great deterrent;

I got my vehicle tab bill today from the Dept. of Licensing (DOL). It’s for my 2009 Mini Cooper, and the total fee exceeds $200. The second-biggest chunk of the bill is for Sound Transit ST3, which will probably misuse the funds. They don’t have the best track record (no pun intended). The biggest chunk? Something called TBD, for $80. I first thought it meant To Be Determined, but almost as cryptic, it apparently stands for “Transportation Benefit District.” WTF is that?
Oh, by the way, take heart. The bill has an enclosure that informs us that “a different depreciation schedule that is more favorable to most vehicle owners will take effect in 2029. Yes, 2029. Oh, goody, can’t wait.

It means that your yard is healthy and full of good bugs, worms and grubs which is the food source. You’ll essentially have to poison your lawn so nothing lives in it except the green green grass. There’s commercial products for that kind of lawn. Then you wont have moles. Just grass.

They will most likely move on on their own. I get them every year but then they just seem to go away. If you are determined to help them move on (to the other side), Gopher Gasser will do the trick. I don’t have the heart for it, nor do I have an enviable garden to protect, so I just let them be.

My local mole is destroying my new lawn. I tried several nonpoisonous solutions but none seem to be working. I purchased a Victor ‘Out Of Sight” mole trap and find that I no longer have sufficient strength to set it. Anyone with advice on this topic or willing to help me set the trap would be much appreciated. Quite willing to pay for the time, but these can be dangerous so only experienced help is needed. Thank you.

I recently had a door replaced through Emerald City Energy. They actually provided the new door as well as the installation. Getting an estimate was really easy. Their work was really good, they were very easy to deal with, and their prices were on par with other vendors. I wish I would have known about them before replacing the first of my exterior doors.

We have awesome neighbors. We watch out for each other and pretty much the whole block participates in Night Out every year. It’s always a lot of fun. My favorite part is that we have a little food exchange going with our immediate neighbor. they bring us homegrown tomatoes, homemade coffee cakes and tamales (and an occasional shot of top-shelf tequila) and we share crab cakes, pesto and whatever else is on the fresh sheet from our kitchen. Very symbiotic and very tasty. Couldn’t ask for better neighbors. I’m not bragging. . . . I take that back, yes I am. I wish everyone could live in our neighborhood. It’s swell.

We’ve been twice and both times they were hit by the bad luck of servers not showing up. The first time was a Friday dinnertime with one server plus the bartender and the owner working. We were told that a server had not shown up so service was slow, but we didn’t mind. We went again a couple of weekends ago for breakfast. The place wasn’t too full because it was early and the owner actually thanked us for coming in before the rush. It was just the bartender and owner working the floor; we were told three (!) servers did not show up. The food was fine, and service was understandably a little slow, but I can imagine they were in the weeds pretty quickly after that because the place was packed when we left. I’m glad they’ve gotten popular quickly, and hopefully they’ll be able to sort out wait staff reliability so they remain popular.
