To whomever Borrowed, without permission, My ’97 Honda Civic on Friday the 22nd I would really like it back. I have some errands to run and was hoping you would be done with it by now. I had intended to go camping the following morning and all of my rafting/camping gear was inside. As you can tell from the luxury vehicle you have been driving around, I cannot afford to replace these items. If you could bring it back to where it was parked on California Ave. between Admiral way and College st. (No questions asked) I would be truly grateful. In the meantime if any good Samaritan sees my car please contact the police so they can remind this confused individual to return my property to me. I hope you all appreciate what an amazing community you have in West Seattle. My family spent a year here while I was on a temporary work assignment and our experience exceeded all of our expectations. Now that we are back in the Midwest I wanted to thank the entire community for welcoming us and making us feel at home during our stay.
Before we came we were concerned about fitting in coming from a small town in the Midwest. We had also heard about “the Seattle freeze” and were prepared to be on our own. What we experienced was the exact opposite. We found a beautiful house to rent for the year and our landlords went above and beyond in helping us adjust. All of our neighbors were welcoming, including us in activities, introducing us to their friends, and helping us to make the most of our time in Seattle. We had excellent experiences with the schools and sports leagues for our kids.
I understand that Seattle is undergoing tremendous changes as the population grows and many are concerned about the effects of those changes on the neighborhood. While the challenges are real and difficult, if all newcomers are treated the way we were West Seattle will maintain its identity as a special place to live, even if it is more crowded. I’ve lived in quite a few places around the country and West Seattle is by far my favorite.
We will treasure most the friends we’ve made in West Seattle and look forward to maintaining those relationships and returning to visit. Thank you again West Seattle!

Great stuff, great prices!Found at Chase bank atm westood. Black and white photo of male…probably fell out of wallet while using the atm. Found 6/21 at about 3:45 pm. Go inside Chase branch to get it back.
I wanted to make you aware of a dangerous dog in the Alki/Schmitz park area. This dog is a young adult Black Great Dane. I’ve seen it several times before when I walk my dogs. Previously It was on leash, but very aggressive and the owner was barely able to hold it back.
Yesterday my wife and I were walking through Schmitz park with our dogs on leash. We came up on the man and his dog off leash. We stopped about 20 feet away. We said our dogs were friendly and they were siting quietly. He said his dog was friendly, but it almost immediately came charging with huge teeth bared. I’m 6’2” 235 and as the dog charged I jumped between it and my dog using my backside to take the impact of the 160ish pound dog. This beast has a head the size of my waist and a frothing mouth full of huge teeth. After that it was 5 minutes of me maneuvering my body and arm between the ferociously chomping Dane and my terrified dog the man was finally able to wrestle the dog to the ground and we escaped.
I’m not afraid of dogs and knew it didn’t want to bite me, but I also knew had this monster gotten my dog down I’m sure it would have killed him and I probably would have been bitten badly trying to get the giant off of him.
This dog is huge and out of control. I felt the community should know about this situation. I shudder to think what would of happened if just my wife had been there.
