Skeets, I guess you’re missing the point. While I follow the rule of law, I’m the one who receives the citation. (if you want to get technical, yes the car should have up to date tabs even if not used). The POINT is… why not tow and or remove tents, RV’s etc etc from the area. Why, you ask? Because these “poor people” can’t pay the fee (insert tears). I know for a fact that one of the RV’s “parked” on Harbor is owned by a local postal worker as I see him walk from his view-chalet over to the 7-11 for his morning Joe! Note: the message was listed under “rants & raves”.

I love the internet. If the city does not enforce a law people complain of lawlessness. If the city does enforce a law people complain of the city not getting priorities figured out.

You may want to warn my fellow residence and readers of this blog, that SDOT parking enforcement is ticketing automobiles with expired plates. In my particular case, my automobile was issued a $45.00 citation for expired tabs outside my home. Albeit my car is sitting along the curb on a public street, the officer must have closed his eyes while driving past the multitude of RV’s and other vehicles along Harbor Avenue.

I haven’t driven that particular vehicle in months due to COVID-19 and working from home. I do however pay over $20k a year in property-tax and would appreciate a little understanding during these hard-times. This city must get their priorities figured out before Seattle becomes another liberal city with increasing rates of people fleeing for a brighter, healthier future somewhere else.

Maddy. Jort(formerly Jort Sandwich) is a longtime blog commenter. Well known for WAY over the top anti car rants. It’s interesting to note that based on past comments moves to a different neighborhood in WS every 6 months or so and knows about traffic in WS because he drives all over. Honestly makes for entertaining reading but doesn’t sway anybody’s commuting/shopping modes. We do need to encourage non car transportation options but it’s not helpful when you read “nobody needs to drive” comments from posters to the blog that if you read all their posts turn out to own and drive cars themselves. They want you out of a car but I guess that’s so they have more room to drive their cars.

I need to get a couch from fauntleroy ferry area brought to the junction to my apartment.
I’d like someone who has moving experience.
It is for a couch 80″ long. We can shrink wrap it with a roll I have from uhaul.

    I can pay$50. That’s all I can afford
Or you may trade for a nice couch I currently have. It’s in good condition. I can send pictures to you. I needed extra deep seat cushions as a day bed.

    Thank you

I hope it stops raining for your moving pleasure. Any afternoon soon, not morning

As long as human population continues to grow at an unsustainable rate, sprawl will happen anyway. Whether it’s new housing to accommodate new residents, or established residents moving out because they don’t like crowding, merely increasing density will not solve the problem. The housing crisis is nationwide and beyond, with no one seeming to care about the resource crisis created by overpopulation. We can’t just build, build, build indefinitely. Due to the sheer number of humans on the planet, as well as the wanton destruction of the environment that is directly related to human population, life is about to get a lot more miserable for everyone – and eventually impossible.

Hi, not selling but my friend (not technologically savvy) is and was curious whether real estate agents are still asking/making 6% (3% each, buyer/seller) in this crazy housing market or have things changed? Things are selling so quickly and for so much over asking price. Thanks.

Michael Waldo makes an excellent point. The same conservatives who, at this very moment, are attempting to destroy Roe v. Wade have now perversely co-opted the pro-choice slogan ‘My Body, My Choice’. While we can’t really conflate the two issues, it is highly suspicious that a classic feminist slogan is being used to write over herstory by anti-choice, anti-vax factions.

What about MY freedom not to get Covid from the idiots who are against vaccines and masking? You don’t wear a mask only to protect your self but those around you. Thats why it is called public health. The pandemic rages on because of people not getting the vax or wearing masks. It is simply science.Do you know any one with polio? No you don’t because we ended polio in most of the world through vaccines. Do you know anyone with small pox? No you don’t because vaccines eliminated small pox from the earth. Also weird that a lot of the same people who say “my body, my choice” are against a womens right to chose.

In reply to: Blinded by the ROOF!

Some people prefer natural light coming through the roof. But the people who want to cover the roof, use roof blinds. And the glare from metal roofs of neighbors can cause damage to your eyes, increase the temperature of the room or might be irritating sometimes. So, it is better to cover the roof with blinds to avoid inconvenience. It will maintain the normal temperature and will give a soothing sense to your room.

Ours has not been picked up either; no recycle, yard waste or garbage was picked up. Was all supposed to be picked up yesterday. Bins are overflowing on our surrounding streets and crows are starting to do their work. I reported missed collection to SPU, but I agree, it would be great to have some communication from them.
