206-200-3302I was hoping that we had this cleared up last year, but I’ll state it again: If you are out walking your dog it is your responsibility to pick up your dog’s waste and bring it home with you. Please do not deposit it anywhere along the route except in a public garbage can assuming it’s not overflowing with other waste. Household and business garbage cans are for the private use of the residents/businesses that pay for the waste to be picked up. If you deposit your dog’s waste in my garbage can you will find it back out on the street. I do not have a dog and therefore, no dog waste needs to be in my garbage can. Pack it in, pack it out.

Neighbors…once again I’m reaching out as a volunteer on behalf of the West Seattle Clothesline (https://westseattlefoodbank.org/clothesline/). We’ve been seeing a gradual increase in the number of families stopping by and are currently averaging about 20 families/day! Since we want to make sure we have enough offerings to meet the needs of all our clients, please consider donating now! In particular, we are in desperate need of Men’s clothing, especially shirts (all types…dress, polo, tee), pants/shorts, sweatshirts/hoodies/sweaters, and shoes/sneakers. Additionally, we can use a new influx of bedding and towels.
As you consider donating items, please make sure your donations are in good shape (i.e. you would still wear or use…but perhaps don’t fit, have outgrown the style, or just cleaning out your closets)! It would be ideal if your donations were bagged in garbage/plastic bags that can be closed. This helps us keep them clean and dry.
The Clothesline is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10am – 1pm, and it is located at 4425 41st Ave SW, Seattle WA. A large parking lot is available.Thank you… thank you…thank you. The generosity of our West Seattle neighbors has always reinforced the Food Bank’s motto of Neighbors Helping Neighbors! With gratitude and appreciation, Meade Thayer

(Background check is required we will comply with RCW 49.94.010)Hello, my family and I are house hunting in West Seattle. I’d love to hear people’s experiences of living next to schools and churches. Do they make for good or bad neighbors? What are some of the issues you’ve encountered? I’m specifically looking at houses in the vicinity of the following:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
Genesee Hill Elementary
West Seattle High School
If you live near any of these or have some insights into the noise and traffic patterns around these spots would very much appreciate your thoughts!
