These facilities are doing you a favor by taking your unwanted items so if the lines are long or take too long for you, you might try giving yourself more time in case they are backed up and busy.
We’ve gone to the Burien Goodwill numerous times and have had to wait in line for a few minutes but are very grateful they took what we no longer needed.

Also the Seattle Municipal Archives. Though most of their old images are for obvious reasons focused on public-works projects/problems, you sometimes can catch structures and street scenes.

We lived in the 3700 block of Beach Drive our first two years here, 1991-1993, and there was still an old mini-mart right across the street, where Cormorant Cove Park is now. I remember buying dusty packs of bubble gum and cans of emergency cat food there. – TR

I’m trying to track down historical photographs taken along Beach Drive from the 1960s and older. Especially interested in photos of the neighborhood grocery stores along the road and photos from Mee-Kwa-Mooks northward.

Just down the road on 1ST Ave is St Vincent We Paul. They also are a non profit which Value Village is not. They do lots of good things for people and families in need.

I haven’t found the lines to be very long. If they were you could always go to the Burien, Value Village, you also get a 20% coupon if you go there.

I need to take another trip to Goodwill, and was wondering if anyone has recent experience with the drive-up donation queue at their Burien location. The website still has the rather daunting warning that wait times might be an hour or more.

Has anyone donated recently? I’m curious how long the lines are and if there are better days/times to go there.

I was rear ended this evening in front of Bakery Nouveau by a 20-something who claimed I “brake-checked” him. I had no idea what that meant until I came home and googled it. He was tailgating, and after he rear ended me started yelling about “brake-checking” and he called the police. I saw no damage to my bumper so I left. I did not have my phone, otherwise I would have definitely taken his license plate.

People, whatever your excuse, there is absolutely no reason not to keep distance from the car in front of you. If you think they are driving too slow–through an area with many pedestrians–take another route.

I was so angry he blamed me for rear ending me–in the junction. No one should be driving like that.

It’s in great shape, but one drawer has a crack in it. It’s a side-by-side (freezer on left, fridge on right) model, and it’s stainless steel.

Just spent the morning at Marination Station trying to capture a juvenile-ish seagull who has rope ties around his feet. The rope is not super tight so he can still fly and walk (albeit hobbled). I imagine his paddling ability is severely disabled. Audubon society can’t help. If there are any birders out there who may have good luck catching the guy, he really just needs to have the rope cut as he does not seem injured-yet. Remember, birds may have salmonella among other things, so keep yourself protected and hands washed. Thanks for anyone who can help this beauty.
