I haven’t commented in awhile, but this is the perfect post to get back to it.
In my humble, and not very knowing opinion, this is how I think the govt. election process should go, take it for what you will:
– Two-year term max
– No lifetime pension, this is a public service job for up to 8 years
– Compensation will be generous, enough to save for retirement and be able to go back to your “regular” job post term
– Medical benefits options are the same as all of us regular people
– No private funding for individual candidates, the money goes directly into the DNC, RNC, whichever party platform someone is running on, and the money is divided equally. Right now, mainly the prosperous few are able to afford to run, which does not represent the country’s majority.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Who wants to start this grass roots campaign with me? :)
