There seems to be a disconnect between voting actions and consequences these days. Maybe it’s a lack of understanding history, I don’t know… But, I guess people who constantly vote down any tax measure will be content to live in a third world country, where the poor roam the streets begging and dying on street corners while the rich live in palaces behind stone walls with paid armed guards. And why do they live behind stone walls with armed guards? Because sick and hungry people tend to revolt against inhumanity at some point. French revolution ring a bell? I wonder how close to becoming a third world country we are willing to accept?
