It seems like stating the obvious, but doesn’t it make sense that your ‘usually peaceful neighborhood’ would cease to be peaceful on a day that someone was shot *through* the cheek by a random stranger while innocently walking their dog? I have no idea how anyone could possibly rationalize waving off having a projectile fired by an unseen assailant *pierce your cheek* as nothing, but treat helicopter noise as the end of the world.
If you still need some sort of defense for the news choppers, then maybe helping to make the public aware about the still unresolved incident is enough? Or at least making the attempt to appeal for information or leads from the public? I would imagine the poor person who was shot would appreciate a resolution to this.
